A place to gather
In South Africa, a lapa is generally an outdoor gathering space, made for long evenings with good company. Ours has a bar, so it is the perfect spot to unwind after a day out, share stories with other guests and raise a glass to the Helderberg. After all, as we often say, we are always up for a drink and a bite with our guests.
The lapa is also a lovely place to plan tomorrow. Also ask us for tips over a drink, whether you want to visit a wine estate, hike in the Helderberg Nature Reserve or spend the day on Strand Beach, only eight minutes away. Then, after dinner in town, it is the perfect spot for a nightcap under the Somerset West sky. And if you prefer to stay in, the lapa and its braai are ideal for a relaxed evening with friends or family, with the sounds of the garden around you.
