Our guesthouse in Somerset West is at its best outdoors. So browse the pool with its sun loungers, the garden lounge around the fire pit and each of our six rooms, from the pool suites to the self-catering Family Cottage. All photos were taken at the villa, so what you see is what you get.

Boulders Beach and its penguins

For example, Boulders Beach in Simon's Town is home to a colony of African penguins. It is about an hour's drive from the villa, so combine it with Cape Point on the same day.

Safari in the Western Cape

Private game reserves in the Western Cape are within a few hours' drive. Go on a day safari, or stay a night and then be back at the pool the next afternoon.

Great restaurants and wine estates

Of course, Somerset West and Stellenbosch have some of the best restaurants in South Africa. That is why we keep a personal list of favourites, from wine-estate terraces to cosy breakfast cafés, and we are happy to book a table for you.

Extreme highlights

For a real thrill, try paragliding above Cape Town, shark cage diving in Gansbaai or abseiling off Table Mountain. Afterwards, the drive along Chapman's Peak is a highlight in itself.
